What is Paint Protection?
Paint protection prevents the bonding of any contaminants or etching directly onto the paint, instead onto a sacrificial layer of protection. Modern paint finishes are made up of many layers, including a clear coat to give your paint some protection and gloss. Most scratches are indentations in the clear coat; however, sometimes it can be intense enough to go through to the colour coat.
In order to protect the clear coat, we add a layer of protection to act as a barrier. This can be through a wax, synthetic sealant or ceramic based paint coating. Each protective barrier varies in durability, chemical resistance and abrasion resistance. At Melbourne Detailing Centre we have protection levels of different calibre which all provide something different, we also offer protection for every surface of your vehicle to ensure complete protection. Regardless of which level of protection you choose, we recommend following a maintenance plan to keep your vehicle looking brand new.
